A Visit To Great Highway Park, Car Free Open Space Next To Ocean Beach
California has avoided the substantial spike in coronavirus cases seen across the country this fall, and San Francisco and the Bay Area have advanced to less restrictive stages towards reopening. The Bay Area is a Covid success story by following the “hammer and dance” approach, however we should still remain vigilant. According to health officials, we have done everything right so far, but Covid-disclipine-fatigue is real. For example in France, according to WSJ, polls have found that 72% of people were avoiding gatherings in mid-May, right after shutdowns. But by Sept. 23rd, that figure had fallen to 32%. Unfortunately, right now they are experiencing a massive Covid surge.
Let’s not let our guard down! Covid has taught us that we are in a marathon, not a sprint. Please remain disciplined about keeping distance, wear masks, keep rooms well ventilated and wash hands while we enjoy life and all that our city has to offer!
