Architecture Type

South Beach is inspired by its industrial past. Many warehouses have been converted into condo-loft buildings and the newer residential developments have followed the same look and feel – low and mid-rise contemporary modern buildings with industrial character and design elements such as brick facade, exposed steel beams, concrete walls, and high ceilings. Many of these luxury buildings have great indoor/outdoor amenities, including outdoor pools and spas, BBQ patios and fitness centers.

What South Beach is Known For

South Beach is Home to the San Francisco Giants. There is a fun and festive scene before and after baseball games. Along King Street, you will find several bar and grill restaurants and even a bowling alley. Twitter was also born in South Beach in a nondescript part of the neighborhood called South Park. King Street also turns into The Embarcadero Waterfront, where there are more food and bar options. Cal Train Station is also located in South Beach. Direct access to 101 and 101 Freeways and the Bay Bridge. Direct Muni Streetcar to Union Square, Market Street and The Ferry Building.

Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Grocery Stores

For everyday eats, The Brickhouse, South Beach Cafe and Town’s End Brunch are local favorites. Pre and post-game dining options are most festive at The Brixton, Momo’s, and Red’s Java House. Five star dining options are Saison and Alexander’s Steakhouse. The two main grocery stores in the South Beach area are Safeway and Gus’s Community, which are in neighboring Mission Bay but within walking distance. Coffee options are Golden Goat Coffee, Starbucks, and Blue Bottle, to name a few. There are also a few established bars in the area, including Red’s Java House, Local Tap and Candlestick Park Sports Bar.

Nearby Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods

Located at the very southern end of downtown and just north of Mission Bay, South Beach enjoys convenient access to all parks along the Embarcadero Waterfront Trail System and the Mission Creek Park System. Cupid’s Span, South Beach and China Basin Parks are in South Beach. Tucked into South Beach is South Park, a small park with a playground and grassy area, surrounded by office spaces where many tech companies originated, including Twitter. Easy walk to Salesforce Park, The East Cut, and many POPOs (privately owned public open spaces).  Sorry we are experiencing system issues. Please try again.
